When Credit River gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including bur oak, silver maple, cottonwood, green ash, and hackberry, drop heavy material into roof troughs. Spring brings cottonwood fluff and green ash seeds, while leaf drop usually peaks in early October across Minnesota. Conifers like eastern red cedar and ponderosa pine drop needles that settle deep into downspouts. Winter brings severe freezing nights, creating ice dams inside clogged gutters when trapped water cannot drain. Ice dams force thawing water under roof shingles and strain sagging gutters. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear debris before winter freezing begins and to protect your home.
