When Cortez gutters fill up
Seasonal changes in Cortez require an attentive maintenance schedule for residential roof systems. Leaves, needles, and seeds from nearby trees collect in gutters throughout the warmer months. Leaf drop usually peaks in late October, bringing a heavy rush of organic material into downspouts right before winter hits. Freezing nights happen regularly, and snow is likely across Colorado winters. While ice dams in gutters are not an issue here, snowmelt running over frozen, blocked debris will back up onto the roof. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall. Spring gutter cleaning clears out winter debris, while fall cleaning prepares the home for snow.
