Understanding Outlet Blockages and Gutter Run Overflow
Water issues during rain often trace back to two distinct conditions that require different attention along the roofline:
- Outlet blockage: Debris settles directly over the downspout opening, causing water to pool deeply in that section and spill over near the corner even if the rest of the trough remains clear.
- Run overflow: Accumulated dirt, grit, or leaves along an extended channel impede flow toward the drop outlet, causing water to sheet over the middle lip during steady rainfall.
