When Chicopee gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop debris into drainage channels throughout the calendar year. Broadleaf sugar maple, red maple, American beech, white birch, and northern red oak shed thick fall leaves, while eastern white pine and eastern hemlock drop needles and cones. Spring brings maple seed wings, and late summer brings heavy acorns. Leaf drop usually peaks in early October, filling channels right before cold weather arrives. Winter brings freezing nights, snow, and ice dams in gutters that trap melting runoff behind cold blockages. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect your home.
