When Chantilly gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop debris throughout the year onto Chantilly roofs. Conifers like loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine shed pine needles constantly, while broadleaf live oak, water oak, sweetgum, red maple, and southern magnolia drop yellow pollen in spring, heavy sweetgum balls, and acorns. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, filling roof channels just before winter. Freezing nights happen, and while ice dams in gutters are not an issue here, snow is likely and adds heavy weight to clogged channels. We recommend a full gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to maintain clear drainage.
