When Chain Lake gutters fill up
Trees throughout Chain Lake drop organic materials straight onto homes all year long. Leaves, needles, and seeds from nearby trees collect in gutters quickly, choking channels and downspout openings. Leaf drop usually peaks in late September, filling roof paths right before seasonal dampness sets in. While freezing nights happen during winter, ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow is rare in Chain Lake. However, cold overnight temperatures can freeze trapped standing water inside blocked gutters, stressing seams and fasteners. To keep water flowing freely away from your home, we recommend professional gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, clearing away seasonal roof debris.
