When Central gutters fill up
Trees common in the South Carolina region drop material throughout the entire year. Loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine shed sharp pine needles continuously into open channels. Sweeping sweetgum balls, yellow spring pollen, acorns, and broadleaf foliage from water oaks, red maples, and southern magnolias routinely block water flow. Live oak leaves also drop heavily, while overall leaf drop usually peaks in late October. Freezing nights happen here, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue and snow remains rare. To protect your property, we recommend scheduling gutter cleaning at least twice a year, during spring and fall, preventing overflow during heavy rain downpours.
