When Cedar Lake gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including broadleaf sugar maple, red maple, bur oak, hickory, American elm, white pine, and spruce, release heavy droppings across regional rooftops. Maple seed wings fall during spring months, while acorns, broad leaves, and sharp pine needles fall in early fall, with leaf drop usually peaking in mid October. Cold winters bring freezing nights, snow, and ice dams in gutters that trap melting runoff along the roof edge. Trapped debris holds liquid that turns into heavy ice. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to maintain uninterrupted water flow before seasonal winter freezing or heavy spring rains begin.
