When Camp Hill gutters fill up
In this part of Pennsylvania, broadleaf red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, and sweetgum trees are common across the region, along with conifers like eastern white pine. Oak catkins fill gutters each spring, while spiky sweetgum balls, acorns, and pine needles drop throughout summer. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, sending heavy foliage onto the roof. Freezing nights happen regularly in winter, and snow is likely. Ice dams in gutters are not an issue here, but trapped wet debris can freeze solid inside downspouts. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, in spring and fall, to keep channels open through every season.
