When California gutters fill up
Local trees common in the region, including sweetgum, red maple, water oak, broadleaf live oak, and loblolly pine, constantly shed organic matter into residential channels. In spring, yellow pollen coats roof lines, while sweetgum balls and oak leaves fall later. Mid October usually brings peak leaf drop across California, Maryland. Conifers drop sharp pine needles all year long, blocking your downspout openings. Freezing nights happen here, and while ice dams are not an issue, winter snow is likely. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear gutter blockage, maintain proper drainage, and protect your roofline before freeze cycles arrive.
