When Braddock gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop debris into gutter channels throughout the year. Pine needles from loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine settle into channels constantly, while yellow pollen arrives during spring. Sweetgum balls, acorns, and leaf drop from broadleaf live oak, water oak, sweetgum, and red maple pile up rapidly. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October across Braddock. Freezing nights happen and snow is likely in Virginia, making clear drainage critical to prevent trapped water from turning into thick ice inside the gutter system. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, during spring and fall, to maintain continuous water flow.
