When Bolivar gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, including bur oak, silver maple, cottonwood, green ash, hackberry, eastern red cedar, and ponderosa pine, drop heavy material into roof troughs throughout the year. Spring brings windblown dust, cottonwood fluff, and green ash seeds, while broadleaf foliage fills channels during fall. Leaf drop usually peaks in late October across Missouri. Freezing nights happen regularly during winter months, making ice dams in gutters a real local problem when trapped water turns to heavy ice, bending metal and roof edges. To protect against winter freeze and spring downpours, we recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall.
