When Biloxi gutters fill up
Several tree species are common in the region, including broadleaf white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, red maple, loblolly pine, and eastern red cedar. In spring, heavy oak pollen and sweetgum drops coat roof surfaces and form sticky sludge in channels. During fall, broadleaf leaves and slippery pine needles pile into the gutters, quickly binding together into thick blockages. Because freezing nights are rare and snow is rare in Biloxi, ice dams in gutters are not an issue for homeowners. However, constant rain means water buildup must drain freely year round. We recommend scheduling gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to maintain clear channels and proper water flow.
