When Benton gutters fill up
Tree species common in the region, including post oak, pecan, cedar elm, crape myrtle, broadleaf live oak, loblolly pine, and eastern red cedar, drop heavy debris that clogs local drainage networks. Fall leaf drop usually peaks in late October, but live oak leaves drop in spring rather than fall. Spring also brings oak catkins, winter brings juniper pollen, and fall drops heavy pecan shells into channels. While freezing nights happen in winter, ice dams are not an issue and snow is rare in Benton, Arkansas. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear seasonal material and keep water moving through every downspout freely.
