When Bellwood gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop dense debris that clogs roof drainage. Loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine drop pine needles all year, while sweetgum trees shed sweetgum balls and oak varieties shed acorns. Broadleaf live oak, water oak, red maple, and southern magnolia bring heavy leaf drop, accompanied by bright yellow pollen during early spring days. Leaf drop usually peaks in late October across Virginia. Freezing nights happen and snow is likely during cold winter months, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to keep rain water flowing freely.
