When Bellefonte gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop debris into regional gutters throughout the changing seasons. Red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, and sweetgum trees throw down spring catkins and spiky sweetgum balls before broadleaf foliage drops during fall. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, filling the gutter channels right before winter sets in. Nearby eastern white pine trees dump needles into the channels all year. Freezing nights, heavy snow, and severe ice dams create serious winter challenges for local roof edges. We recommend scheduling a detailed gutter cleaning at least twice a year, during spring and fall, to protect against water damage.
