When Beckett gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and eastern white pine, drop heavy material into gutters each year. Oak catkins clutter downspouts in spring, while spiky sweetgum balls, acorns, and fallen leaves fill channels during fall, when leaf drop usually peaks in mid October. Winter brings freezing nights and snow, though ice dams in gutters are not an issue. Trapped ice and wet debris still add immense weight to your roofline. We recommend scheduling gutter cleaning at least twice a year, in spring and fall, to keep systems clear for summer rains and freezing winter conditions.
