Common Drainage and Clog Conditions
Gutters stop working properly when channels become restricted by outdoor organic material and roofing grit. Several conditions often lead to blockages:
- Tree litter such as shedding twigs, seeds, and autumn leaves collecting in channels.
- Rooftop granular runoff mixing with decayed matter to form dense muck along the trough bottoms.
- Obstructed downspout outlets preventing runoff from leaving upper gutters.
