When Arlington gutters fill up
Seasonal conditions in Arlington require continuous attention to your drainage system. Broadleaf trees common in the region, such as white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, sweetgum, and red maple, shed massive leaf volume every fall, usually peaking in late October. Conifers like loblolly pine and eastern red cedar drop sharp needles throughout winter, creating tight mats alongside fallen acorns and spring pollen. Freezing nights occur during winter, though ice dams are not an issue and snow remains rare. Nighttime freezes harden trapped water and debris, straining hangers and pulling metal channels out of alignment. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall.
