When Arcadia gutters fill up
Trees common in the region, such as broadleaf live oak, water oak, sweetgum, red maple, southern magnolia, loblolly pine, longleaf pine, and slash pine, constantly drop material into gutters. Pines release long pine needles all year long, while spring brings thick yellow pollen. Live oaks shed leaves heavily, while sweetgum balls and acorns tumble down onto the roof during seasonal changes. Freezing nights are rare here, so ice dams never form in the gutter channels, but heavy rain quickly compacts this organic material. We recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to protect your Arcadia home from sudden overflows during stormy weather.
