When Ansonia gutters fill up
Local trees common in the region, including sugar maple, red maple, American beech, white birch, and northern red oak, cast down heavy foliage every fall. Eastern white pine and eastern hemlock drop sharp needles and pinecones into channels too. In spring, maple seed wings fill open gutter systems, while fall leaf drop usually peaks in mid October. Freezing nights, heavy snow, and cold conditions follow, meaning water trapped behind leafy blockages can easily form thick ice dams along the roofline. To protect your home against freeze damage and severe clogs, we recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to maintain complete water flow through every season.
