When Altamont gutters fill up
Altamont experiences freezing nights, likely snow, and winter ice dams in gutters that create heavy pressure on roof edges. Tree debris is another constant challenge, as leaves, needles, and seeds from nearby trees collect in gutters quickly. Leaf drop usually peaks in early October, filling downspouts right before cold weather begins. Trapped water then freezes into solid ice, bending metal troughs and pulling fascia away from the home. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to clear out fall leaves and prepare your roof for winter freezing. Spring cleaning removes leftover winter debris so spring rainfall flows without overflow.
