When Albertson gutters fill up
Trees common in the region drop a variety of materials onto local roof surfaces throughout the year. Broadleaf red maple, white oak, hickory, tulip poplar, and sweetgum trees release oak catkins during spring, followed by fallen leaves, heavy acorns, and spiky sweetgum balls in the fall. Regional conifers like eastern white pine drop needles that settle deep into downspout bends. Leaf drop usually peaks in mid October, and freezing nights with likely snow follow in winter. We recommend cleaning at least twice a year, spring and fall, to prevent blocked gutters before cold weather arrives. Timely cleaning removes seasonal organic matter before water can freeze within the channels.
